Chino Industrial Facility Project
When a forklift impact compromised a critical interior support post at a Chino, California industrial facility, the resulting partial roof collapse threatened significant operational disruption. The client was facing a potentially lengthy and costly repair, especially concerning given a previous, similar incident.
A prior repair at the same facility, managed by a different company, had resulted in a project cost of over $1 million and required a month-long shutdown of 20% of their operations, setting a precedent for extensive downtime and expense.
Strucco was engaged to provide a more efficient and cost-effective solution. Leveraging a comprehensive, integrated approach that included consulting, value engineering, and design/build services, our team developed an innovative repair strategy. The plan involved shoring the structure and lifting the roof beam to perform the necessary repairs without removing the roof itself. This method showcased our expertise in structural engineering, structure lifting, and structural framing, allowing for a precise and minimally invasive intervention.

By completing the repair in just two days, Strucco not only prevented any interruption to the facility’s productivity but also delivered substantial financial benefits. The final project cost represented a saving of $850,000 compared to the previous company’s effort. This 2024 project stands as a clear example of how strategic engineering and efficient project management can deliver superior outcomes, minimizing both cost and operational impact.

“Strucco finished the repair in two days, keeping our facility running smoothly and saving us money.”
